What is the Patient Advisory Board?

The Patient Advisory Board (PAB) brings together people with lived experience of musculoskeletal conditions to collaborate directly with researchers involved in the SmILE project. As a PAB member, you become an active contributor to the research process. Your experiences, perspectives, and insights will help guide the development of future smart implant technologies and ensure that patient priorities remain at the center of innovation. Together with researchers, clinicians, and engineers, PAB members help ensure that:

  • Patient needs and expectations are reflected in research and technology design
  • Ethical, social, and practical considerations are addressed
  • Research outcomes remain relevant, accessible, and meaningful for patients No scientific or technical background is required. Your lived experience and perspective are what matter most.
